Preparation
  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients. Soften the cream cheese at room temperature.
  2. Chop the walnuts and cranberries finely.
Pre-Cooking Preparation
  1. Optionally, toast the walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat until fragrant.
Mixing and Assembling
  1. In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheese, walnuts, cranberries, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix thoroughly until smooth, then form the mixture into small balls (1-2 inches in diameter).
Finishing
  1. Refrigerate the cheese balls for about an hour to firm up, then roll them in chopped walnuts before serving.
  2. Present on a platter with toothpicks or crackers.

Notes

These cheese balls can be made up to two days in advance and stored in an airtight container. They last about 4-5 days in the fridge, or can be frozen for up to two months.
