  • 2 tablespoons Cocoa Powder For dusting.
Optional Add-ins
  • 50 grams Nuts (Almonds or Hazelnuts) Finely chopped for texture.
  • 50 grams Dried Fruits (Raisins or Cherries) For chewiness.
  • 30 ml Liqueurs (Rum or Amaretto) For a sophisticated twist.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Gather all ingredients, measuring the dark chocolate, heavy cream, and butter accurately.
Heating the Cream
  1. Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until it begins to simmer, then remove from heat.
Mixing the Ganache
  1. Pour the heated cream over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for a few minutes.
  2. Add the butter and mix until smooth. If using flavorings, add them now.
  3. Cool the mixture to room temperature before refrigerating for about two hours.
Forming the Truffles
  1. Once set, use a small scoop to portion out balls and roll them to form truffles.
  2. Dust the truffles in cocoa powder, or dip in white chocolate for a festive touch.
  3. Decorate with a piece of candy on top to resemble holly.

Notes

These truffles can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container. Refrigerate them for longer storage, but let them come to room temperature before serving for enhanced flavor. Perfect for gifting in decorative boxes or jars.
