Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Assemble all necessary ingredients and allow the butter to reach room temperature.
Mixing
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg one at a time and mix in the vanilla extract thoroughly.
Combining and Assembling
- Gradually combine the dry flour mixture with the creamed butter mixture until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips or other candies into the dough.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them adequately.
Baking
- Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow them to rest on the baking sheet before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Decorating
- Once cooled, frost the cookies and decorate with chocolate chips and sprinkles to create the melting snowman effect.
Notes
Baked cookies can be stored in an airtight container for several days. For longer storage, consider freezing the cookies without frosting. A thicker buttercream frosting works best for decoration, as it holds shapes well. Adjust frosting flavors as desired.
